And Why You’re So Tired

Tasks move.

“What should we do about…?”

The bottleneck remains — it just shifts forms.

The Shift: Transfer Context, Not Just Tasks

Leadership gets lighter when we share the thinking, not just the doing.

This looks like:

  • Clear roles and responsibilities (everyone knows what they own)

  • Decision rights (who decides vs. who contributes vs. who executes)

  • A predictable communication cadence (so issues don’t trickle in one at a time)

  • SOPs that outline how to think and decide — not just how to do tasks

When context becomes shared, leadership becomes shared.

You stop being the person who keeps the entire system in your mind.
Your team starts solving problems, making decisions, and moving work forward independently.

You finally feel:

  • Supported

  • Grounded

  • Clear

  • Spacious again

You May Not Need to Do Less. You May Just Need to Carry Less.

This is an important distinction.

You don’t need to:

  • Work harder

  • Push through more

  • Be more organized

  • Pretend you love being available 24/7

You need structures that support you, not systems that depend on you.

You deserve:

  • A business that continues moving when you’re not there

  • A team that feels confident making decisions

  • Time to think about future direction, not just today’s fires

  • The ability to truly rest

This is not about stepping back.
It’s about leading in a way that is sustainable.
